Of course the footage is copyrighted...it's copyrighted automatically upon creation. (Apple also includes an entire screen of copyright info at the beginning of the streams.)

But that doesn't stop people from wanting to get a hold of them...

To tell you the truth the torrent is not legal. All the keynote footage is copy righted by apple and if apple could they would go after it.
