Well, after my Dell laptop finally died i decided to come to the Dark Side and buy a MacBook. I've loved it thus far. My Dell came with SP1 already on it. After much searching, I only found one website that told me how to successfully slipstream SP1 with SP2. Namely, delete the SVCPACK folder on my XP disc and then integrate. This worked pretty well, but during my windows install it hangs on file usbechi.sys saying it's corrupted. I have to turn off power and make the boot disc eject on the next startup. Does this have to do with improperly removing SP1 or from burning wih Nero 7 instead of 6, a bad burn, or something else? I'd appreciate any help since part of the reason I bought my Mac is that i have to use windoze software for work and with the new Boot Camp, that was finally possible.

FWIW if you are trying to use the Windows license that came with your Dell on your Mac, you are most likely going to be in violation of the EULA which does not (generally) give you transfer rights. So, even if you get it installed, you might have some trouble activating it and using the license beyond the 30 days...
You could always just buy an US$85 OEM license of XP Home SP2 and install that (unless you need US$120 Pro).

Me too, however a cursory google search reveals lots of issues slipstreaming some Dell provided CDs. nlite seems like a good option.Abulia said:

Read the EULA that came with your license. All I know is that OEM licenses are typically tied to one computer and are not allowed to be treansferred from one computer to another.scrupulousmedic said:

I'd imagine an OEM license from a manufacturer (Dell) would have the restriction that it (the license) is only good on Dell hardware.

An OEM license that's not already tied to a computer. Once you install it on the Mac though it becomes inseperable from that Mac. Buy from http://www.newegg.com or any other reputable vendor.slackersonly said:
