The disks that came with my iMac?

So with my iMac there was a little box thing called 'Everything Else' (lol )
There are two disks in it:

Mac OS X Install DVD
Applications Install DVD

Is this all I am supposed to get? I thought I was supposed to get iLife disks?
What are they both for?
And which one is the one I have to use when I install Windows via bootcamp?

iLife is on the Applications disc.

The Boot Camp drivers are on OS X Install disc.

same question

I was just looking around for my install DVD's for my iMac which i got last year (Dec. 2007). I only found two as well...but mine are called "Install Disc 1" and "Install Disc 2." Am I missing something or is that all that should've come with my Mac?

install disk 2 - applications.

Hmmm....actually on mine "Install Disc 1" has the system software and the bundled applications and "Install Disc 2" shows merely a text edit file which is instructions on installing. That's why I was worried about missing something.

for what its worth I just installed vista 64 bit last night. Everything went without a hitch once all the updates applied.


However in the vista performance my video card show a 1 rating for gaming and aero performance. Everything else is rated in the late 4's and 5's. It shows I have the ati 2400 xt is this normal? Its running in 1680 res so I am not sure.

Can someone shed some light on this>?

Yes, it is the right driver. Performance in XP (I don't own Vista) sucks on anything graphics intense. I can only surmise that Vista would be way worse. MS doesn't do small footprint OS's.
Maybe someone conversant in Vista can tell you how to install the standard ATI video drivers rather than the Apple supplied ones. I did that for my XP install and it was a dramatic improvement.
