  • 21mp camera
  • Android 4.4.4

I mean EVERYTHING is top of the line specs in the bad boy PLUS it's at a normal smartphone price (unlike the iPhone 6 plus). On top of all the top of the line specs... Verizon offering a one-time screen replacement for free

I am really tempted to give up my 5s and go with Verizon's $60 per mo unlim/talk text + 2GB of data plan.

EDIT: Nevermind, looks like Verizon just killed off their $60/2gb plan with phone subsidy a few days ago... now it's changed to $60 for 1gb and no phone subsidy. I think I'll pass Verizon thanks but no thanks

That is a tempting phone. Buy it off contract and it will actually work on the best carrier... Verizon bloats the hell out of their products though.

Definitely a spec monster. I personally find it pretty ugly and being a Verizon exclusive is also a huge mark against it.

Pack all that power inside the Moto X design or Nexus 6 style, sell an unlocked GSM version and I'd be seriously tempted. As is presently, no interest.

Only thing missing is Unlockable bootloader

Verizon :(
I was on some forums trying to find that out too......
I wonder how the camera will perform as well. I wonder if it has the same camera the Nexus 6 has? Both made by Moto.....

As silly as it sounds this is what I would hate about being an Android user. Buy the latest and greatest and then 2 weeks later there's something bigger and better out.

That battery sounds like a monster, 3900mh and charges to 8 hours in 15 minutes? Unreal.

But you have the choice......I can sell my current phone and get almost what I paid for it. Or just pop in my Verizon sim and now I have a new beast of a phone. I didn't have to wait a year........
I see it as a bonus not a problem. if the current crop of Android flagship phones do not meet your needs. There might be one in a few months that will......

Here is the official Motorola page for it (complete with the specs):

Yeah, good thing it's a nice problem to have! ;)

I wish the iPhone line had top of the line specs and different manufacturers all competing week after week to come out with the very best of it's class.

With the battery life this thing has I don't think I will be tempted by any other new phone released in the next 2 - 3 years really.

While I know others might root their devices, I've never been tempted about doing that in the slightest. Couldn't care less if the bootloader is unlocked (it's probably not).

This is going to be my next phone. Hopefully a GSM version comes out but I've been even tempted to switch over to Verizon for it. Aren't all verizon LTE phones unlocked though so I could use it on say an ATT MNVO?

Definitely is unlocked since it's a Verizon LTE device, here are the bands it has:
Bands
CDMA/EVDO Rev A (850, 1900 MHz)

LTE Cat 4 (Bands 2, 3, 4, 7, 13)

Carrier Aggregation (B4+13)

GSM/GPRS/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz)

UMTS/HSPA+ (850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz)

Yeah, it's definitely not a bad thing, competition is good. And if I were single I'd have no problem losing a little on upgrading to the latest phone every few months. But I'm married with children so... :p

Oh yea fair enough I hear you

should have said only thing missing for me

Reading my response you quoted at post #12 I sounded kind of rude I think, I apologize if I did gotluck. Guess I need to get some sleep (currently running on fumes and can't think very straight).

Here are two forums for the Droid Turbo if you want to check on the locked bootloader issue:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/droid-turbo/general

http://forums.androidcentral.com/motorola-droid-turbo/

In particular there is a thread on Xda that might have the answer you are looking for here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/droid-turbo/general/root-unlock-dis-bish-t2906258

If I find anything definite on it I will update you guys :)

Except, it's Verizon and Android. 2 no buys for me.
Other than that, it looks like an amazing phone.

Wow... I really want this phone, but it doesn't support all the LTE bands I need for AT&T. Come on Moto. If Apple can cram every band into the baseband, you can too.

Apparently there is a GSM version that visited the FCC recently. You might be in luck soon!

Here's a video hands-on to wet your appetite in the meantime guys :)

The only reason this is of interest to me, is because it bodes well for the Occulus Rift and who ever else comes along. While I think these super high res screens are overkill for a phone, if they make virtual reality more affordable and accesable, I'll go for that.

The nylon back looks really nice. If they do come out with a GSM version I would be tempted to get it. The only "issue" I have with this phone, is that it oozes testosterone. There's no way for me to fem this phone up.:p

Monster battery!
Pity this screen is too small :/
Oh yeah, and not available in Europe...
