You mean the dispute between GeoHot and the Chronic Dev Team?

How is that the end of Jailbreaking, there's still the one and only Dev Team. You know, who made QuickPwn, PwnageTool, Yellowsn0w, Ultrasn0w, Redsn0w etc etc.

Only think I find interesting is this "Future reference, never donate until you have a product in hand and working." How do you expect these Dev teams to be able to find exploits if the donations aren't there.

A donation is a donation. When you make a donation to support an ongoing product development effort, it should be done with the understanding that said product may never be completed, for whatever reason. Apparently some people who "donated" didn't understand this principle, and are demanding their money back because the jailbreak hasn't been released yet. Attempts to placate these unhappy "donators" appears to have been the cause of the recent ruckus between Chronic Dev and GeoHot. So either donate with the full understanding that you might not see any return from your "investment," or, as Geohot says, you should only donate to support already completed products.

Well, those people need to wake up and figure out what donate means. Dummies!

Where's the interesting part?

If you didn't find anything interesting that's fine. But why bother post sarcastic reply. The OP obviously found it interesting and was kind enough to share. So for what seems to be missing in politeness I would just like to say thanks for sharing OP

Nice double post! ;)

I think the poster was pointing out the fact that the original link didn't tell ANYTHING about the subject. I'm glad someone posted the links below to the actual articles because clicking the top link only provided me with news I don't need and doesn't relate to the thread topic.

So, OP, I appreciate the attempt but next time link to the related articles and not the entire blog.

Sorry - my mistake. I hadn't realised I'd posted the wrong link. Do hope I'm forgiven.

I don't know. Do you bake? ;)

My thoughts on the articles... I don't think it's a big issue for the community. Apple patches things all the time. I'm sure that Geo just won't be working with Chronic again and I hope Chronic will man up and the freaking USERS will stop BEGGING them for information.

It was stupid but I am already jailbroken. If future updates don't jailbreak, I won't upgrade. If future models don't jailbreak, I buy an Android phone when my 3G dies. :D

Spot on, and this is the reason why I posed the question, 'the end for jailbreak'? It's started to involve money now, which it never has in the past afaik. You only need to google iphone unlock to see the immense number of people attempting to cash in on the back of geohot, dev team etc. In their position you can begin to see why it's becoming not worth their while (people stealing their work, donating then asking for money back, arguments on twitter etc.)
