i've (for apparently no useful reason) filled out an ios feedback request for a more-gradiated pan slider (in settings>accessibility) for maybe a decade.

i have a slight hearing loss in one ear (& i can't be the only one); i cannot get the pan to a point where the audio centers in earbuds or headphones. this is because apple has limited settings for the panning to lock into place.

one of the main reasons i used to jailbreak my iphone was... there were a couple of apps that allowed more fine-tuned panning. i miss that!

meanwhile... it's worse now. in ios 15, it's impossible to get the slider between those lock points. what i used to do (sigh): slide my finger until center was actually 'center' for me, then swipe up, to exit settings, and retain that positioning. worked, but generally reverted to the default.

meanwhile... anyone have any ideas? is there an app to do this? or a trick? or is it worth threatening my iphone with a mountain drop? 🤷‍♂️

amazing; after a decade of requesting this (at apple stores, in the beta feedback app, on the feedback page for ios)... apple has finally added a truly adjustable pan (check it out!) and i can, finally, lock that in place, and (in my head, literally)... center is in the center. progress 👍
