Hi all,

I bought a new MacBook Air M1 and migrated all my files from OneDrive to iCloud. After move everything over I noticed that some file have a status of Waiting to Update in the iCloud folder, and they were not uploaded to iCloud yet. When trying to open them I get the message : The file couldn't be opened because you don't have permissions to view it.

When checking the permission on the files, I have full read and write permissions.

I want to mention that only a few files are like that from tens of thousands. What can I do ?

1. Quit Preview.
2. Click on the Desktop and press the buttons command+shift+L.
3. Drag to the bin the file com.apple Preview.
4. Relaunch Preview, the file will recreated and you should be fine.

Otherwise the Home Folder Permissions are corrupted. The is a solution for this.

I repaired the home folder permissions (I had to reinstall MacOS too in that process), deleted the preview com.apple file without any luck. The ideea is I am moving files from OneDrive into iCloud. If I click copy and paste in iCloud, a lot of files have permissions issues and can't be opened or uploaded to iCloud, staying in a Waiting to Update status. If I move the folders from OneDrive to the desktop (not using copy), they are OK. What is the logic behind this ?
