With the addition of iOS and the iPhone/iPad and the growth of market share WWDC attendance demand has grown(a lot).
I understand anything can happen from Apple splitting iOS/iPhone/iPad to a different event or canceling WWDC altogether.
If they do keep holding this monolithic event each year where is Apple going to hold it? Moscone West sold out in 8 days this year. Next year could be even quicker. They could rent out North, South and West but at this point that would only hold for one or two more years before we are back to 8 day sell-outs again.
What other venues are bigger then the Moscone Center that are setup for events like this and are close to Cupertino? They could move it out of California but that would cost a lot to fly and lodge that amount of Apple staff.
