Stumbled upon this article the other day. He makes some very good observations that I hope are coming true. And what he says makes since considering how Apple operates.

I see the list of "wants" for iOS grows long. I would like to see multiple user accounts, just like MacOS. I'm not sure what is holding that back? RAM/SSD storage? I suppose Apple would not want to implement it unless the entry level configuration could support it.

Apple seems to be making it really clear over the past few years that they will never turn iPadOS into a macOS lite type of OS. Apple seems very averse to creating a true Mac like device with an iPad. They seem to be saying in essence that the iPad is for playing, not for working. They have shown no interest in giving iPadOS a "real" Mac like File system. They only seem to be interested in making a multimedia and social networking device. iPads are toys compared to Macs; very expensive toys. That makes me sad...

Right now I'm dealing with ios15 on an iPhone mini that's littered with issues, Monterey on an M1 Air that's a continuing work in progress and not without bugs. And ipadOS 15 on an iPP and mini that are working great. Pleeeease do not ask for new features, ask for no updates instead.
