I'm currently looking at options regarding a case or sleeve for the Air I ordered today.

Speck's SeeThru shell seems great, but there are lots of reports of cracking and weighing down of the display. Does anyone know if the Air's hinge has been reinforced?

Other options are the Speck TrimSleeve, although it's fake leather, and maybe the Nero Envelope, although it seems somewhat gimmicky.

There's also Vaja and Joli Originals, although both are a bit pricey.

Thoughts?

I'll be carrying mine around in a manila envelope. :)

In all seriousness though, I recommend STM. They make some great stuff at affordable prices.

I would like a case, and a sleeve that fits the MBA while it has the case on, anyone know of one?
Also any good ones out there that look like the
hardgraft one but for cheaper?
or this one

Also THIS is a good thread about cases and sleeves for the MBA

Is the new macbook air 13" the exact same size as last year's?

Cause all the cases are for the last model, and would a hardshell case really give me hinge problems?

Does anyone recommend buying a case at the Apple store? I thought I saw a wall covered with cases for all kinds of devices there. Are they overpriced? Do they have good selection?

Don't buy snap-on type cases

Any snap-on type case is not recommended. I have learned this from previous experiences on MBPs. It adds weights on the screen, hence loosing the strength of the hinge over time. Use a sleeve instead, it offers great protection with soft inline material and keeps the original aesthetics.

That's awesome, just confirmed that they are the same sizes (exactly the same). Does anyone happen to know of any other cases like bookbook? I'm not too sure I want to pay that much for a case, esp. since it has a zipper on it which is kind of a giveaway.

Incipio sells some really nice looking sleeves for the MBA on their site. You can get one of the 19.99 ones and apply a coupon code to get it down by a couple dollars.

Check out the Book Book case for Macbook Air from Twelve South. They can be used as a protective sleeve or you can keep the laptop in the case (there are straps to hold it in place) and use it right from there. It zips shut so the Macbook won't fall out. A little pricey but they are really well made and distinctive. I ordered one for my Mac Air today.

Went with TrimSleeve. I really liked Joli Originals, but I'm going to law school and the colors seemed kind of unprofessional.

I bought this one

Hi,

I still haven't had time to actually create a review on this yet but I got this sleeve from untype for my 13 incher. It works perfectly for my needs and seems pretty solid for protection. I will do a review sometime soon after all this 2011 Macbook Air excitement has died down and I've worked out Lion's kinks.

Here's a pic of some of the sleeves from their website (The charcoal one with the leather strap goes really well with the air:

Returning TrimSleeve. It wreaked, coming out of the package, and I wasn't thrilled with the quality. In addition, it's possible it needs time to stretch out, but the Air didn't even go all the way into the case.
