In flight plane-to-plane Airdrop... real or fake?

Where's the actual proof it worked, for all we know, the phone that popped up could've been the person standing behind them..

What they should've done was pay through the nose for in-flight WIFI, FaceTime someone in the other plane, then show the AirDrop process and also show the same file being received etc.
