I've heard conflicting reports, so I ask. Does anyone know when the iPad gets the upgrade?

Also, can anyone think of any technical reasons why they don't allow us to upgrade next week?

My best guess is it will appear during the September iTunes and iPod upgrades. The new iPod Touch model will get the iOS 4 upgrade along with some hardware upgrades hopefully (camera, etc). The iPad will most likely get the iOS 4 upgrade the same time that it is available for the iPod Touch.

There working on it for the iPhone version first because the iPhone 4 is coming out and iOS 4 needs to be ready for that in time first.

I wonder how some of the new features will play out on a bigger screen. For example, will folders be limited to 12 apps as on the iPhone? The previous app list will have to work in any orientation (only portrait on iPhone).

I would be fine with 12 apps or so per folder, though likely it will be more for iPad. I could really use folders to organize my apps.
