I have been using my iPad Pro 12" as my main computer since it was released and I never wished for a laptop for the first time in my life.

As a musician, it has the added the bonus of being my sheet music viewer. As a part-time accounting geek, I am glad it can run Mictosot Excel. As a wanna-be artist, the Apple Pencil is an invaluable tool for it. As a movie buff, it's been my bedside companion.

iOS 11 will sweeten the deal even further. The ability to multitask has been my deciding point to go iPad-only and the new updates will surely take this to a new level.

Ok, I lied, I've been eyeing the base Macbook 12" lately, but with a high price of CAD$1,700+, it's a no-brainer for me to go with the new iPad and have additional cellular connectivity as an option...which I can't get from any MacBook.

My first gen iPad Pro 12" will still be with me until this fall, afterwhich I will upgrade to the new one.

When you can backup an iPad completely without a computer then it will be closer to a Mac. iCloud backups are not good enough
