So I switched to a mac about a year ago. I've been absolutely loving it. I can't really put my finger on exactly what makes the mac better than my PC experience. It just feels easier, more enjoyable, almost sleeker.

Anyway I've been dying to get a new smartphone. I'm thinking of maybe making the jump but I am torn.

I like the iphone with its seamless sync with my mac including media, email etc. The problem is I don't get any ATT service at my work place where I spend 60 hours a week! someone in the office has a 3gs but they are basically out of touch the entire time.

I'm looking at the droid as an alternative since I get full vzw service but I can't swallow the idea of having to give up itunes or go through a roundabout method of syncing.

Anyone that has the droid or another VZW smartphone with a mac have any suggestions/impressions?

I've seen the droid processor keeping up with the iphone but how do you feel not having pinch, rotate gestures?

Do you think google navigation will come to the iphone?

what should I do?!!?

I can answer a few things. I haven't tested the Droid with any of my Macs yet since I picked up and went straight to work. I'll be glad to let you know later though. For what it's worth though, I've never liked iTunes even with all the iPods/iPhones I've owned. I just don't like it so I'm obviously biased here.

As far as the browser goes, I've always been more of a "tapper" with my iPhone anyway so I don't miss pinch to zoom on my Droid at all. Android 2.0 does support multitouch though so maybe we'll see a hack in the near future. Personally I don't miss it as far as browsing goes at least.

Google navigation (which is awesome on the Droid by the way) is still technically a beta and it does show on the Droid. I'm fairly certain I've seen something pertaining to Google bringing their nav service to the iPhone though there's no when or where on that at the moment.
