www.iphone.com

I bet $10 that Apple contacted them about the domain recently, as now they are the "Internet Phone Company".

Before it was just ads.

All i can is that whoever bought that domain sure will make a lot of money off the ads and such...

Yeah, but it used to be just ads and just iPhone.

Now it's got the name and table.

I wonder what the traffic is on that site....it's all ads. They're not shipping any merchandise themselves. Great scheme, if even for a bit until the lawyers come.

I thought it was a lot newer. But nothing special right now.

Thanks, I just made an update to the bottom of the article.
This is getting juicier, and juicier. I thought I was the only one looking...

I have a domain name that is a popular phrase, that is a trademark for a company that sells paper goods. Once, I decided to just monetize the traffic, and let it go to a keyword search page. I got a nice lawyers notice demanding I hand over the name (even though I personally never heard of the company before). I ignored it, and just switched it back to my website. Fun stuff.

Honestly, the last thing they want to do right now, is put a picture of an iPhone, and even the WORD "iPhone" by itself on the website (and possibly also iPhone.com). I'd imagine that's why they're avoiding anything "automated" and have probably hand-picked their ads not to include anything that would be hot-water inducing.

They'd clearly make the MOST money by putting up an ad for the various "gratuity" incentive programs out there like RetailShoppingCard.com or FreeiPod.com, etc. Tons of them out there. I've curiously seen many dissappear in the last couple of months though. Curious.
