The iphone didn't working

I got a new iphone 5s from USA (i live in a differnt country) it shows me allways the white start screen when you got in a new iphone and do in this the settings - appleID and etc.
it wirtes that you need to connect to wifi but it didnt connect ! (I tried more then one wifi) and when I'm connect to itunes it says that the sim Not suitable. what should I do ??

Which model 5s do you have? You would need a sim card from your local carrier in order for the iPhone to be used and synced through iTunes.

The sim card would need to be activated too. did you have a big one and then cut it yourself? it may be damaged and therefore not readable by the phone
