Hi guys.

I'm an owner of iOS 17 from beta 6, and even with the final version, I'm experiencing a bad lag on my keyboard.
If anyone has any idea to try fixing it, possible without losing datas, it would be very much appreciated.

Everything else is working fine, I'm just having this bad keyboard lag that slows down the whole experience.

Thanks <3

Here as well. It’s strange that no one is complaining about this.
I’ve noticed that it becomes laggy when turning on predictive text and autocorrection. The lag is most likely caused by the new autocorrect feature they introduced in iOS 17. Which is very bad, by the way, if you’re using multiple language keyboards (it mixes words between languages). How can such a buggy feature be released in production by a company that hires the smartest engineers?

OP, on what device? The only major performance issue I experienced on my 9.7-inch iPad Pro when Apple forced it from iOS 9 into iOS 12 was sporadic keyboard lag. In my experience, it’s the beginning of the end, the first symptom of iOS updates worsening performance.

I have all these keyboards enabled and it doesn't lag on my XS, very strange.

I had this lag on my iPhone 12 Pro Max so I thought it was time for a new phone. To my surprise, I have the same lag on my brand new iPhone 15 Plus (set up from scratch) now 🙈 I think I „fixed“ it by disabling haptic keyboard feedback for now

Same on iPhone 11 Pro Max. The lag seems to come from the haptic feedback, which is slightly late compared to when I tap the letters. It’s only a few milliseconds but noticeable.

it’s strange because I don’t have haptic feedback turned on. People suggested resetting the keyboard dictionary, but this seems more like a temporary solution. I had luck with removing and adding back the keyboards in settings. I think it does the same thing like resetting the dictionary….

It’s absurd that this keeps happening. The keyboard lags severely on an iPhone 5c on iOS 10. It’s been years Apple... this shouldn’t happen anymore.

An iPhone 11 should not have keyboard lag.

I don’t recall a single instance of keyboard lag on my iPhone Xʀ on iOS 12 after using it for four years. They clearly can do it.

The fact that this keeps happening only tells me that there has been no progress at all. It’s funny to see Apple talk a million hours about “oh look at my cool A54 Pro Max Bionic” and three years later the keyboard lags...

Apple can do it, clearly. My iPhone Xʀ on iOS 12 is the smoothest device I’ve ever used. I have an iPad Air 5 on iPadOS 15 and I think this is even better. It’s sad to see newer iPhones struggle with this.
