I think that Mickle's NY Times piece provides helpful context for a discussion about the Mac Studio. Personally, I'm ambivalent about the design. Jony Ive still works as a consultant for Apple, but I doubt that he had much input on this line of computers.

I'll take function over form every time, I think the Studio looks great on my desk I have it tucked under my Studio Display so the front of the computer sticks out about 3 inches, really have no complaints. Only takes up the footprint of the Mini, has lot's of ports, some even on the front of the machine (god (or Ive) forbid), I think it in it's simple looks help make it look elegant. It feels sturdy, has some real heft to it for such a small package.

I'm pleased Ive is gone. More ports, less dongles. Cooler, not thinner. I want to buy computers. I'll hang art on the walls.
