On this week's episode of The MacRumors Show, we talk through all of the major features and improvements rumored for Apple's upcoming iPhone 16 Pro models.

With the iPhone 16 lineup likely just seven months away and after over a year of rumors, we discuss the tentpole features expected on the upcoming devices, such as a 5x tetraprism telephoto camera, an all-new "Capture" button, a new thermal design, exclusive AI features, and larger displays, as well as denser, larger batteries and faster charging. For a full breakdown of all of the differences the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are expected to bring to the table compared to the current models, see our detailed guide:

Great show this week. I listened to it twice because I felt like I missed the AI conversation, and I'm right there with you about just wanting Siri to be better. For example, if I'm in Driving Mode (And my Car Play doesn't work), if I ask Siri to get direction, I shouldn't have to unlock the Iphone for that. It should be able to pull up the directions. Heck, Driving focus should basically work like Car Play if you don't have Car Play enabled. It should automatically unlock the phone and if you want Siri to play songs, it should be able to do that. Siri should not be limited in 2024.

Great episode!

I just know that I am going to be disappointed yet again this year. Eve Jobs was not wrong. Another boring incremental upgrade! I'm looking for some wow, out of this world features such as a 20 band system-wide audio EQ, or a lidar room detection sensor that identifies objects in a room; room temperature, and potential hazardous materials; their size and make up. Or knowing that I am driving home and recommending alternative routes to save gas and money, avoiding traffic (no matter if I use Waze, Google Maps, or the Maps app, etc...).

Also the ability to turn my screen horizontally on the main home screen and the icons adjust seamlessly.

A phone, an iPod, a camera, a smart and intelligent device all in my pocket is now so old and passe even for an Android device as well!

Better battery life, better camera, better screen brightness are so ho-hum features and totally expected, duh!

Wow me, surprise me and then and only then will I go out of my way to spend my shekels.

- A disappointed Apple Fan Boy (I have always owned an iPhone and no other brand)

it doesn’t matter what apple put in the iPhone 16 folks flock to it and upgrade as such . People will try to justify the upgrade from a iPhone 15pm to a 16pm

Most iPhone customers use the iPhone Upgrade Program according to Apple. So there’s no friction. That’s why everyone upgrades. Every year all you have to do is place the order and send back your current phone.

When does your CarPlay not work, but you iPhone does? 🤔

Car Play crashes because the infotainment system isn't up to date (specifically when navigation is on). Iphone works as it should.
Wow, I’ve never had that happen. Is there a way to update you infotainment system?

Is the pro version likely to come with a 3x camera or you'll still need the pro max for it? My hands can no longer take the heavy weight but that's a feature I can't live without
