On this week's episode of The MacRumors Show, we ponder some of the devices and apps we wish Apple would make.

We discuss our wish lists, including some plausible ideas like a foldable iPhone, Apple TV soundbar, task manager and Notion-like productivity app, and even an Apple Books e-reader, as well as some outlandish devices like an Activity Rings fitness band and specific HomeKit appliances. Let us know what your dream Apple devices and apps are in the comments.

How about a retro inspired iMac, Macbook and GUI?

Foldable phones are not a viable option at this time due to technological limitations. Samsung has encountered significant issues as a result.

In Poland, users are contemplating legal action against Samsung due to issues experienced with their foldable phones.

How about they get Siri actually reliable? Spell check wouldn't be bad either (I can't believe how horrible and inferior something so simple is still to this day). Oh and maybe get Apple Music be able to actually work if you (God forbid) bring your own LEGAL music. After Siri the last two are High School projects these days. I can't believe the number of times I mistype some simple words in Pages and the Mac simple has no clue or suggestion...EVERY other system nails it right away. And Apple Music has been garbage for over a decade. Funny how if you simply stay with Apples paid streaming then everything works perfect. Add your own LEGALLY owned CDs or self created music and watch the titles get changed when loading to your phone, and my favorite watch the album artwork not come over half the time, the other half the wrong artwork updates to the wrong album yet it looks fine on the desktop before dragging it over. And NO I REFUSE to "full sync" as every time I have done that Apple likes to replace some of my versions with the version already in "iTunes" on-line and gets half of them wrong each and every time. Really embarrassing as like I said this type of functionality is a High School programming assignment nowadays...

Vision Pro is cool and all, but I think the next step Apple will take is the Smell Pro

This one:

Bring standalone Apple Watch with NO dependency on iPhone or any other device (except Mac). Add camera to take pictures, work as scanner (including Apple Live Text) and web browser like Safari to read QR codes. An extra bonus would be to connect it to the Mac. Then I am sold:

It’s Time for the Apple Watch to Break Free From the iPhone

Future Apple Watch Update to Enable Pairing With Multiple Apple Devices Rather Than Just One iPhone, Claims Leaker

Since an Apple Toilet was mentioned, what about an Apple Bed. You can adjust the bed with your phone, and you can even wash the sheets with your phone as well.

Apple could make the perfect wifi router when no one else could. Imagine Wifi 6e time capsule with served as a local backup and host for iCloud content for immediate access when connected to wifi. Also backs up all your devices locally and mirrors it to the cloud. Built in matter/thread hub, HomePods and Apple TV’s as range extenders. Would also serve as a HomeKit router when that functionality hasn’t taken off.

Guys guys... You present some interesting content but please get someone to vet your wardrobe choices. What is with the white t-shirts? When sitting in front of a white wall Hartley makes some of my pasty Finnish friends look tanned in comparison. White wall, glass table, white computers, white shirts....you just need to dye your hair to complete the full Man From Glad look. Image is part of the message so get a grip.

It would be great if they brought out an ebook reader, but using colour e-ink, which apparently is already a workable thing. Combine that with the pencil so we can take notes and draw stuff and it could be pretty good

Dream Apple Product. You didn’t say this had to be realistic:

  • 14.5” MBP with no notch
  • QLED 4K display, 100% Rec. 2020 color
  • M3 Ultra
  • 32 core CPU
  • 128 core GPU
  • 256GB RAM
  • Two 16TB SSD in RAID 1
  • 24 hour battery life
  • 4K HDR FaceTime camera
  • FaceID
  • 5G wireless capability with GPS
  • Matte black colorway (not midnight)
  • 0.5” thick, 2.5lbs
  • Mouse that can be charged while using

What I will probably end up getting if I’m lucky is a bit faster and more battery efficient on TSMC 3nm process:

  • 14.2” MBP
  • Same display as now
  • M3 Max
  • 16 core CPU
  • 48 core GPU
  • 64GB RAM
  • 4TB SSD
  • 14 hours wireless web, 20 hours media playback
  • Same camera as now
  • FaceID in the notch
  • Can we at least get Midnight Black?
  • Same dimensions and weight
