So. Utah
I put in addresses all week, and the search result is not even close. I've dang near thrown my iphone out the widow this week. I cant find nuttin!

I find everything quite well, even some things my 2009 GPS cannot find.
Perhaps your address are as in-descriptive as your post.

Did you try formatting the address correctly? The Maps.app does a good job at guessing if you made a small mistake, but if you're pretty off, it'll also be off.

Try formatting it like this:

#### Streen Name, City Name, Zipcode, State Initials

All you need is a building #, street name and zip code in the US. City names and states are redundant.

You don't need the commas, either.

Are you pressing the "current location" button before searching?

Yes, most of our addresses are numbers. So again today I put in 1032 S. 4375 W. and it put a pin on 'a' 4375 W, but nowhere near the South part. In fact in a different part of the town. And yes I do the locate button.

And many other such searches this week, where I put in the 4 digit address of North and South sorta thing and it cant find it.

Street names it does a pretty good job with, unless its a newer subdivision. I wish I could do, or get a map update!

Well, it runs off of Google's maps, which is the TeleAtlas maps. So, there really isn't anything that Apple can do to get newer maps into it, unless they got another provider, which would mean breaking a strong tie with Google.

I'm a courier and I use the map app all day. I've used it for the past year and I can't remember the last time it was wrong. I put in street number, name and go.

Damage control. The Maps app does suck. It has since 3.0

True, and I preferred the Map App for a lot of things before. I found it easier to look up phone numbers, restaurants, and such rather than a google search. But something lately really blows. Maybe its just me!

I'm not sure how Google maps finds locations in Japan, but I entered all the info correctly on two occassions to find my next temporary job locations, and the map placed the pin across the street from the actual location the first time, and it placed the pin ten blocks away the second.

I've found it to be accurate otherwise... it's been helpful in getting me to a location.

I've noticed the iPhone map app has pictures that are 2003 era at my house. Will Apple ever use updated maps? I can actually tell you the day the pic was taken, we were having our roof replaced and the shingles are off our roof in the pic. :)

Well, the satellite view is Google not Apple and, unless you're actively engaged in espionage at home, I don't think there's going to be much satellite time dedicated to your house. :)

Would be nice to see a newer pic of our area I live less than a mile from a major highway re-construction that took 10 years to complete and it ended last year. I drive in dirt on the phone now on the new highway.

well the app is only as good as the google map search, so I guess google is to blame here not apple?
