the movies resolution

I got the game the movies here on osx.
Now i want to play it on full resolution and widescreen.
But the game does not support higher then 1920x1200.

Is there a way to have it higher and in a widescreen resolution ?

1920x1200 is pretty high; what resolution is your display? I don't have the game but it wouldn't surprise me if that's the upper limit.

Yeah, if 1920x1200 is looking blocky on your display, perhaps you're sitting a little too close to the screen.

Hi Zeromancer. We just tried it out in the office and had it running at 2560x1440 with 4x FSAA. What Mac are you running it on? If you had FSAA set to 4x, the game may decide that you don't have enough graphics RAM to run it properly, so it'll restrict the available resolution options. So the first thing to try would be to set FSAA to 'Off' and see if it gives you more resolutions to pick from.

it's on the imac i7 ( 27 inch) 2010 version with a ati 5750 ( with 1gb video ram) .
i could understand that the resolution would be to high, but what i don't get is that i get black borders on the left and right side. ( So it's not widescreen).

I tried what you said and turned FSAA off. But i don't get extra resolution options.

Hm, the other things I can suggest are to try to set the resolution from the video tab of the options window that pops up before the game starts, and to make sure that you're picking a resolution that matches the dimensions of the 27" screen… most Mac monitors have a 16:10 ratio of width to height, but the 27" is 16:9. So take the resolution you're trying out, and divide the width by the height e.g. 2560/1440. If the answer you get is 1.777 then it fits the 27" iMac. If you get 1.6 or 1.333, those are resolutions designed for differently shaped monitors.
