Fist of all what happened to the cats. I guess they ran out. I guess they're starting a California them now.

Second it is listed here as 10.10. Is this official. What happened to 11. Or is it just going to be 10.10, 10.11, 10.12, etc from now on. Wouldn't 11 have made more sense than 10.10.

Or is this it and then 11 after this.

Wow.....This is a bit late....Yes, they changed it to the names of California landmarks....

OS 11 would be a new operating system.

OS X is the tenth version of mac operating system. 10.1 - 10.10 are 10 versions of it.

The next should be 10.11

10.10 =/= 10.1

Apple can go as high as they want in the 10 version. We could go up to 10.999999 It really doesn't make any difference.

Also yeah um it's places in California since Mavericks and IIRC they picked a theme that would give them at least 10+ years worth of new names, so don't expect a deviation from the Cali theme any time soon.

The cats were done with 10.8.

They started with California names over a year ago with the Mavericks DP and stated this was the new naming scheme until they decide to change it again.

Seeing as how they decided to go from 10.9 to 10.10 it is highly likely the next release will be 10.11 but there seems to have always been a split group of people when it came to knowing what the OS name was, some people will tell you the number some people will tell you the name but few know both.
