How to transfer every single image on my iphone on to my computer, either windows7 old laptop or a 2008 iMac.

Please help.

My iPhone only has 32gigs and it keeps complaining I don't have enough space.

I am trying to download all my images to my computer so that I can free up some space on my iPhone

This simple process has turned into a nightmare.

I tried on my windows machine, it gets hanged on a particular image file that it doesn't like and the process of quits. So not all files were transferred.

Moved over to my iMac, tried to import all images via the Photos program, at first it got hanged on a file, I deleted the particular file and now it states that it finished the process, but when I look at the folder, not all the images on the iPhone were downloaded.

Moved over to the Image Capture application on the iMac, same essenario, it completed the process, but not all images were downloaded from the phone.

At this point am just so frustrated, why does it has to be this difficult, it is my phone that purchased, those are my images that I shot, why can't I just get them on to my computer ?

What is the alternative ?

How can I make sure that I downloaded every single image stored inside my phone onto my computer ?

@poder2k, there’s a problem with your post because several paragraphs repeat over and over. Can you tap the Edit button in your post and delete some of the repeats to make it easier for everyone to read?

Can you enable iCloud Photos on your phone so that they will upload to iCloud? On your Mac, also with iCloud Photos enabled, you can then download the originals if you want or you can leave them in iCloud.

Don’t try to import all at once. If there’s a problem with am image you don’t want to abort the whole
process. Do it in batches so you can isolate the problem images.

I been refusing to use any of the online storage for my photos and data, but this simple procedure of downloading images from a phone to a computer has been made so difficult, that I gave in and paid .99 per one month of 50gig storage.

The question now is how to get the upload process started.

I turned on icloud, I turned on the photo app to back up, but nothing is happening...

The phone is connected to power and to the my home wifi...

How do I get this process going of backing up these images so that I can errase them from the phone and free up some space?

You’ll be able to see uploading to iCloud process in Photos > Photos > All Photos > scroll to the bottom. That‘s where you will see the status. Uploading a large amount of photos can take many hours so it’s helpful to leave your phone plugged in. Doing it overnight is a good idea too.

Keep in mind you may not need to erase them from your phone. With iCloud Photos optimize storage option turned in the settings, all of the full size originals are stored in iCloud, not on your phone. You’ll see small versions of them on your phone.
