The new apple tv - can it stream netflix etc outside the u.s.?

I travel a lot, outside the us. I have no problems renting movies and buying tv shows on my old apple tv outside the us, with my us iTunes account.

Would I still be able to do these things plus stream netflix with the new apple tv?

No you can not Stream content outside of the us with netflix even if you have a netflix account unless your running a proxy with a us ip address. How would you know Your from the UK?

I'm almost positive you cannot.

I'm 100% positive you can't. It violates Netflix licensing agreements with the studios. Netflix servers read your IP server address and if it is outside the US, they will not let you stream. VPN or proxy server is the only way.
