Uh, yeah . . . Apple wouldn't care, beyond any legal concerns about the design.

The Amiga I left in June 1994 ain't never coming back. This is an undifferentiated case with an Intel or AMD processor inside. Whoever these folks are need to grow an ecosystem, and fast. Otherwise, these are little more than a novelty. And for our old games, we already have emulators. For those who actually *want* to play these old games, they will already have the files and will already know *how* to use emulators.

That'll be one expensive footstool.

It sure bears no resemblance to the Amiga I used for music all those years back....But Apple being Apple.....

Definitely bears watching though like the original Amiga, it may fail to garner critical mass.

I was as the boston computer society when they unveiled the original Amiga and was blown away, now that was way back in ancient history

Not to derail this thread but that does look amazing.

As for the Amiga, the design is very apple like. The question is for them, is not how apple like is it, but will it work. Looks can be deceiving

I was in high school when it came out. There were a bunch of us who owned Commodore 64s, and we swapped games and other software. Then one guy got an Amiga 1000 for Christmas in 1987, I believe. We were all absolutely shocked at how cool it was. It made the Macs we had at school look lame.

A few years later, I got another introduction to how powerful the Amigas were when I was in college and a friend worked in the on-campus TV studio. She was giving me the tour, and when wandering around, I saw an Amiga 2000 running Video Toaster. They used it to do all the graphics and video editing. They were doing some amazing stuff with it.

Agreed, I think they were the first out there to have a dedicated processor for the graphics and the demos I saw then and continued to see was amazing.

The Amiga was so far ahead of its time it's not funny - a FAR superior machine to its contemporary Macs and PCs.

Started out on a Commodore64 in the 80s. Those were the days. GEOS. Sid Meier's Pirates! Learning to program in BASIC. Mind you, I wasn't very good at that.

Then came late 1990, and an Amiga 500. Bliss. That's all I can say to describe it.

But in 1994 it was time to get REAL. And that was it for my relationship with Commodore.
