The New iMac less than the Display?

The new 27inch imac is $100 less than the 30inch apple display. You loose 3 inches but gain led backlighting and a whole computer. Doesnt this justify a display price drop?

I feel that the cinema display is ending its product cycle at Apple. The LED Cinema display will be the new and only display from Apple. Seems like what they will be doing. So, no price drop will be happening, only a discontinued product.

I agree it seems that there positioning their imacs to also be their new displays.

It could be an e-IPS display, which would mean it's actually much much cheaper than their 30 inch to produce. Though I have not heard of an e-IPS in that size so I dunno.

Is the 21.5 an IPS of some sort? I would almost surely guess that was e-IPS if so.
