LG finished 2014 with great hardwares like LG G3 and LG G Flax. The company today announced newest phone on CES today: the LG G Flax 2. This phone is sweet. Packed with powerful internals like: Snapdragon 810, 2 or 3GB depends on region, 13MP shooter, 16 or 32GB storage with SD expansion up to 2TB[\B]. Yes, 2TB storage!!! The yesteryear LG G Flax was great, but it was not without issue. This year LG fixed old issues and the spec improvement is great.

This year maybe freat year for LG.

And the price? I think the original LG G Flex was one of the most expensive Android phones out there.

They need to drop this 2 or 3 GB depending on SKU. The 2gb G3 was noticeably poorer performing compared to the 3gb version.

Well, look at their financial state. They need to do everything they can to break-even or make a smallish profit.

I still think their mistake is making a gazillion models.

Says 2tb is supported, now the question is can you support things that dont exist? :p

Wonder if 2tb will work on older devices like 128gb does

That's truly insane

Seems like both an evolution of the G3 and simultaneously a step backwards. Visually and size-wise, it's a curved version of the G3 (at least to my eyes). It offers and improved CPU yet less resolution vs. the G3 with most else remaining about the same. I don't see the decrease in resolution (vs. the G3, not the last Flex) necessarily as a bad thing as I personally think QHD is overkill on a 5.5" display with its greatest impact on battery life. But that being said, decreasing resolution isn't exactly a marketing dream for a new device.

My biggest problem with the device is simply that I find the design and hardware unappealing. The materials scream old Galaxy S-line shiny plastic and it really looks more like a toy than a premium smartphone. I can appreciate the added durability it supposedly offers but I simply find it ugly and cheap looking.

Of course, these are only my $0.02.

i think its the first phone to have DDR4 ram isn't it?

not sure that it will have that big of an impact on performance though

I'm sad it's not as big, since I really liked the last one being over 6 inches. Ah well, maybe the next G Pro will be 6 inches.

Last i checked, Android couldn't actually use more than 2 cores in real world performance. Only feigning the use of 4 cores. Has that changed in Lollipop?

Had not heard that. There are octa-core phones too. Do you have a source?

I heard it a fairly long time ago and things have most likely changed but the one I remember is Intel.

I'm just skeptical if any mobile OS on the market can effectively use 8 cores. Especially when 4 Core power has barely been harnessed. In the real world they juggle 2 cores mostly.
