So I had the previous gen Mini, and I know I wasn't getting more than 35-40MB at MOST via the Firewire 400 port, when doing straight transfers to my RAID1 2TB Western Digital Studio drives. With the new Mini, I was hitting just under 70MB/s transfer from the 120GB 5400rpm in the Mini to the same drive via Firewire800. And it was still climbing when the file transfer ended, so I'll have to try some larger files later to see what it maxes out at.
Very impressed with the transfer speeds. This is a SIGNIFICANT improvement over the last generation Mini. I can only imagine the USB 2.0 transfers are faster, too, since I noticed the same thing via USB 2.0 going from my late 2007 MacBook Pro to my late 2008 MacBook Pro also via USB 2.0.
Anyway, just wanted to share...
