So, I ended up replacing my old 17" Macbook Pro with a 15" MacBook Pro (the one with 4GB of memory and the 512MB video card). So, I went ahead and installed Window XP 32 bit without thinking about it more. After spending a little time with XP, I decided I really wanted to install Vista 64 bit. Unfortunately, after installing the Boot Camp drivers, I've been getting the BSOD randomly, usually within a few minutes of loggin in. The only thing I could catch from the blue screen was that there was some sort of error with the file nvlddmkm.sys, which appears to be an nVidia file. I was wondering if anyone has any idea how to solve this?

Firstly, what made you want to install vista? XP is far more reliable as windows goes.
it's true for the x86 versions. but vista x64 is a lot more reliable than its x86 counterpart. though I agree with you in the sense that I'll install XP on my new MBP over vista.
Ah, various reasons. Mostly because I've heard x64 Vista is more stable then x64 XP, although I'm starting to question that. I've personally used Vista 32 bit with no issues before and didn't find it bad or anything so I thought "why not?" heh... Any thoughts, preferably on a solution?

Seems to be a problem with nVidia drivers on Vista. Where have I heard that before?

To be honest, I find the trackpad sucks in Windows. When you try to click, it allows your finger to slide slightly. It means I misclick ALOT. The right click works ok. I sometimes find it inconsistent with recognizing how many fingers are on the trackpad at once. Kind of annoying. All in all, I find the trackpad pretty horrendous in Windows. It's a good thing that I'm only using Windows for gaming and use an external mouse at such times.
Also, I decided to skip Vista and XP x64 due to the driver issues. Neither wanted to work properly. Both blue screened and it doesn't seem like there's a way to solve the issue. nVidia has no place to download the drivers for the new MBP, as far as I can tell. Maybe I'll try again sometime in the future, when the drivers get an update.

Indeed. XP 32-bit is solid, but Vista 64-bit is amazing. Vista 64 is so much better for some reason, it really is like night and day. You'd think there'd be no difference because it's simply 64-bit, but it really is that much better. If you must stick with XP though, stay with the 32-bit version. Been running it (Vista64) on my MBP since Feb. and it's been nothing but awesome.
However, the Boot Camp drivers aren't very good to begin with. Apple really needs to get on that.
