That photo was taken in 2004. It's just a model of the Power Mac G5.

I'm more interested in the black box thing that actually has stuff plugged into it.

Genelec studio sound monitors. Very distinctive back plate.

I always thought he was more the type for an iMac, but its nice to see he was using a Pro machine.

The "black box" is a self powered studio monitor [model?] -- one cable is a 1/4" RCA jack and the other is a power cord.

Genelec 1029A studio monitors.

And the little Power Mac is, well, a little Power Mac. It's a model. Not a disk whatsoever.

"In this photo at Jobs' home office in 2004, we can see a model of the then new Power Mac G5 on his desk and a plethora of books, files and knick-knacks on the shelves in the background." from the MacRumors article about the slideshow

And if you look at it closely you will see it looks just like a PowerMac G5 just smaller. Its got the two fan inlets, the area where the graphics cards would be, power socket, ports.
Its not some raid enclosures or what not. Why would steve have a raid enclosure or something that has no cables attached?

It looks nothing like a RAID enclosure. I'm sorry, believe what you want but it's just a Power Mac G5 model, probably used during the development of these machines.

It's waaaaaaaayyyyy too small to be a PM G5 or MP. Just look at it in comparison to the monitor, which I assume is 30".

My MP on my desk stands much taller than my 23" which admittedly is smaller than a 30" but on that picture the 30" literally dwarfs the supposed PM.

EDIT: Oh, I see you mean model as in a scaled-down-model. Ah, yes, could be...
