The new MBA and heat.

Im not really an expert on computing but hopefully you guys will help me out.

I've heard a lot about the new processors being a lot better but end up causing the computer to heat up a lot more.

Would this be the case with the i5?

Also, say I were to play WoW on it, would this cause the MBA to heat up badly too?

it might. but, other manufacturers are using the i5 in thin notebooks (asus ux). i imagine apple will come up with some solution. but, the truth is that:

no one knows anything.

the air hasn't come out yet. i'd reserve your fears until after it does.

You can always use Coolbook to undervolt the processor anyway. This is (almost) guaranteed to reduce heating.

With the new MBA you won't have to worry about bringing your George Foreman grill with you on trips. Less stuff to tote, so be happy

Coolbook does not work with i5/7 processors.

Literally almost 100% of "heating" issues you hear about are non-issues. Processors will shut themselves off of things get too hot. Every processor has recommending operating temps and people on the internet never seem to read those, or they will do stupid things like use their computer on a blanket in bed and wonder why it gets hot.

This is why you see the countless "My computer is overheating!!!" threads that freak out because their processor temp jumped when they start playing games or using flash heavy sites and such.

ULV iCore that should be used in MBA has 17W TDP, wich is same as current C2D... So the new MBA should heats as much as current one. But seriously, guyz, you need to stop asking questions about product that DOESN'T EXIST yet... These are only asumptions...
