Every year (with the new OS update) Parallels brings another (too much) paid update, with the latest and greatest, and even muuuuuuch faaaaaaaaster then the older version.
keep using the older one, if it works for you, just look what has been updated in the new version, and if it would benifit you.
Beware they always make it sound like you NEED the latest and greatest, or it might not work 100%, but that is bull
I stopped using Parallels, it was getting too expensive with those minor updates.
Looking on the site, it looks to be cheaper to skip 2 years of 50,- upgrades, the buy a new license for 80,-
Not sure of the differences but I am running it as well in Mojave and see no reason to upgrade. It runs the programs I use, mainly Office to check how a document looks in Windows, so upgrading provides no benefit.I bought Parallels in the summer and now there appears to be a new version as every time I use it it’s trying to push me into buying it!
Does anyone know the key differences and do you think it’s worth upgrading to the latest one?

Why would anyone or why would most corporations bother with Parallels when buying a PC would be cheaper?
I can think of two reasons:
- It's cheaper if you already have Macs and just need to run one or two Windows programs
- As a VM, you can run multiple OS versions and different OS in one box; making it easier to test on different machines

Most corporations are Windows based but a few may use the Mac.
