Is it just me or the News app a bit redundant? When I open an article, it only shows a few lines then I have to open a web page to see the full article, a web page full of adds and most of the times with an ugly and pixelated UI. Is everyone having this or is it just me cause I am not from any of those countries that support the app? I just use the US region format.

I noticed Safari content blockers don't work with News when you swipe up to read more of a story. A better use for News is when there's s topic you're interested in but don't care about the source...the opposite of a RSS reader.

You've kind of gotta find sources that support the special formatting. Many do and the articles are nice looking and load fast. Kinda like Facebook instant articles or the Discover article things in Snapchat.

I normally use Google News for general news. Syncs nicely across OS-X and iOS to deliver topics of interest to me.

For serious news I really like the New York Times iPad app. Spend a lot of time on it and recommend it highly.

I use Apple News only when I'm bored and looking for something different. I will say that it is better than either FlipBoard or Zite, both of which I have deleted.

I use it and like it - not great but gives me an idea of what is going on for those source that interest me.
