i'm really looking forward to a new version of ilife as i've seen no reason to update to ilife '05 (cost far outweighed the new features) and i made a decision to only do every second update for this package.

today after opening up iphoto i was directed to this upgrade ilife page. should i take this to mean that there will not be an update for some time?

also, what is your wish list for ilife '06/'07/whatever?

i'd like to see apple find a way to implement front row on older machines that are not imacs. i'd like a way to make notes on photos that could then be seen by the presenter when giving presentations using screen spanning.

Hopes for iLife 06

First and foremost I'm hoping for Front Row to become part of iLife. It seems to fit in nicely with the whole concept of the suite. Of course to do it properly they'd have to include an IR receiver and remote in the box.

Secondly I'd be looking for any means to speed up iDVD encoding times, especially in regards to menus and transition effects which take forever and two days on my dual 1.25 G4.

I'm hoping for some significant usability improvements in '06. and at least one new application that i'd like to use. as it stands, i use Flickr for my photos, itunes is free, i don't have a dvd burner and if i did i'd get dvd studio pro. iMovie is nice, but i'd only use it if i had a dvd burner and a dv camera, what am i missing? i have little use for the suite unless they give me some really compelling reasons i guess. i WANT to use it, but i just find it too basic for my needs in the few apps i would use. also, the tie-in's with .mac annoy me. if they allowed the .mac solutions to be implemented on my "pay more than .mac" service i'd be all set and would likely use it.
