The Next Macbook Pro

When do you think wel will see the next Macbook Pro. MacWorld San Fransisco 2008 is almost definate right?

What do you think the 17 inch Macbook Pro will offer with the top upgrades? This is what I think:

17 inch Glossy Screen
Penryn Mobile Architecture
2.6 GHz (with 800 MHz Front Side Bus and 6 MB L2 Cache) <---T9500
4 GB RAM
200 GB Hard Drive (with 7200 RPM)

Now what I want to know:
1. How much RAM does the Penryn Mobile architecture support?
2. What graphics card are they likely to use?
3. What other innovative features should it have? (ie. Multi Touch Trackpad)

I shouldn't think that the new platform will support more than 4 GB RAM. Even if it does, is anyone likely to make 4 GB 200-pin RAM modules, when DDR3 is just around the corner?

It might have a new graphics card. ie. the die shrink of the 8600M, or ATI equivalent.

I don't see the next upgrade being that revolutionary. Penryn processors bringing 10-20% performance boosts, if they use a new GPU, similar increases in that department too.

Probably an LED backlit 17" screen. Why would you want glossy? Maybe high def.

Nothing all that special. I would expect the NEXT revision, Nehalem, to be awesome. Nehalem will almost certainly bring quad core to notebooks, at higher clocks, giving a close to double speed increase. DDR3 RAM, 4GB stock, maybe 8 or 16 limit. Much, much better GPU on a 45nm process, hopefully. Basically take everything we have now, and make it twice as good.

I think my next MBP will be a "Sandy Bridge" 32nm CPU in 2010. I want it now.

2) Work harder at making money

Before the next rev is out you are talking about the revs based on Nahalem. Going by Intel's tick-tock trends, wow... that is a Q3 release you are talking about, almost a year's wait!

I'm in total agreement, can we just get January over with so that the rumor wheels stop spinning?! I mean some threads are 6 pages long on this exact same topic! If you just do a search you will find more predictions than you can read in a whole day.
