Any thoughts or speculations as to what the next upgrade will consist of/when it will be/if it will be worth waiting for?

My personal suspicions/hopes (based on zero evidence) are:

-Perfected LEDs (no yellow tint), LEDs for the 17"
-7200 rpm 200 GB / 5400 rpm 250 GB option
-512 graphics card
-Minor improvements to the design
-Upgradeable/user replaceable friendly for everything, including graphics cards
-Optional Blue-ray upgrade

I am hoping the next upgrade will be simultaneously released with Leopard, but realistically it probably won't be before January. I unfortunately do not have the option of waiting as I need a notebook soon.

I would be surprised if the gfx card got updated, seeing as how the last one took a year and a half. I personally also think the Blue-ray/HD-DVD race is too close to call...

Internal parts of the laptop like CPU and graphics card will never be replaceable. You'd void your warrenty doing it yourself, and Apple would never offer an upgrade service to install a newer graphics card unless the graphics card was faulty.

512MB graphics cards would be nice though.

Faster processor too, Quad Core Intel's will probably be out in time for the next MBP upgrade.

Just need the software industry to catch up and start writing programs for dual core CPU's.

The only issue I want fixed is the non-user replaceable hard drive.

Other than that, I'd be happy if they just throw in whatever Intel's current CPUs are, and hopefully at least a mid-range GPU-just like they've done for this update.

I'm hoping LEDs for the 17" at least. Faster hard drives would be great too. But my fingers are crossed for a redesign and 12" MBP ultraportable. That would be awesomeness.
