I wish I could, plane tickets to UK are not cheap nowadays. :(

And the Canadian $ sucks.

Yes, I'm planning to go over on the Sunday. I'm interested in the Street Life talk by Matt Hart on Sunday. It's on Saturday too but I can't go then.

I'll be there on the weekend. I think there are a lot more things on at the show since it changed its name.

I'm thinking of going on a week day or two when its a bit quieter. It's only a few minutes away from me as I've recently moved closer to Brum. Nothing I really want to buy but there are some great speakers - not least Martin Parr and Don McCullin.

Do you get a free ticket if you've been before?

Unfortunately not, I used to go every year when it was the Focus on Imaging show, then we used to get in free, but you needed proof your in the Photography business, the Adobe stand used to be very good and my favourite suppliers Calumet will have a stand for the first time, well worth a visit, but be warned it is £8 to park your car and its usually as far from the doors as they can make it for some reason, top tip, wear thick socks and comfy shoes, your feet will be aching by the end of the day, take your own drinks it's a rip off once your inside as with all these things.

All good advice. However it's £10 to park now!

Thanks for the advice Mr Noisy and AFB! I'm used to traipsing round the NEC as I go to Gardeners' World Live every year, so comfy footwear it is. I shall go on the train too. It's £13.80 for a day return so not worth taking the car.

Ah, no I'm not in the photography business but I do have a voucher. Thanks!

With Focus they used to just send one (if you are a pro - which obviously I was ;) ).

With the photography show you have to apply each year - they do check to see if you are a pro or not.

You can save a bit of cash and park at Hampton in Arden station - it's should only be around £3-4 for a return ticket to Birmingham International (it's only one stop). Monday and Tuesday probably isn't a good day for the station as it might be full of commuters.

I'm just going to catch as bus as the local one takes me there! (900 service)

I think the car park costs are the least of my expense worries! :D
Hope you catch some good seminars.

Thanks for the info. I asked because the various shows do it differently. Gardeners' World at the NEC is never free, though you do get discounts for early bookings. The Language Show, on the other hand, is free every year. First got it as an offer then each year they offer me an online booking for free. You only pay if you just turn up at the door.

I get a free ticket through work every year. Unfortunately that means I have to work the 4 days.:(

Went to the show yesterday. Prices at the show weren't particularly cheap. Talked to SLR Magic about their lenses (anyone tried these?) but found a better offer on their website! Looked at the Billingham Hadley Small bag but it's bigger than I thought. I imagined it to be about the same size as the Dome 5XB but it isn't. The price was cheaper than the RRP but even from the shops it's a few pounds cheaper than there.

Plenty of talks and demos though and it was an interesting day out.
