Hello everybody,

My name is Piotr Gajos, I'm the art director at SpoonJuice. We have recently released "The Plateau" - a puzzle game for iPhone/iPod touch. Goal of the game is to untangle knots of orbs and glowing lines in distant space environment. There are two game modes - Challenge and Arcade. Second one includes a timer, which makes gameplay quite intense and stressful at times.

We are quite excited about this release, as the game looks great, music is addicting and we believe that gameplay is captivating.

I am posting here because we really want to hear from you guys - iPhone and iPod touch gamers. Feel free to check it out and do let us know what you think. Is it good? What should we improve? What would you like to see in future updates? Did it cause any problems for you?

seems similar to untanglemaniak ... besides pretty graphics what makes this better? I have untangle and bought it, not sure if I want to spend money for the same/similar game

@brian: come on, it's only $0.99 :) It's not like I'm asking you to test something that costs $20. Have a look at the video posted on our website and see for yourself.

@jchampl: the concept is similar but it's the execution that makes our game completely different. I assure your experience from playing "The Plateau" will be nothing like other untangle games.

Iam with Brian on this one, if we are to test your product we should get something in return like the game for free. Why would we pay you to test your product that YOU are making money on?

Agreed. Comes to the forum and advertises their app while asking people to check out their app yet not willing to provide an incentive?

I was kinda hoping that video on our website and screenshots in App Store will be enticing enough :) But seriously - I'm afraid that giving the game for free to everyone is not possible. Apple provides us with a very small number of promotional codes. If we give out one, everyone will start asking for them. This would be quite a disaster, imho.

@Piotr:

I downloaded the game on the graphics alone. However, I am a graphic designer so these types of things make a difference to me. There are a few games that are very good but with poor graphics that I have, but I always looks for the professional quality looking apps with great graphics.

I downloaded your game and love the look. Gameplay is simple. I have played this type of puzzle/mind game before, so I picked it right up. Some basic instructions might be nice for someone who has never played this style game before. The music is not my style, but then that's not part of playing the game, can just turn the volume off.

As for the free promotions idea, maybe you and the developers could offer a free lite version of the game. Fewer puzzles or challenges, less challenges, no music, etc. Something to give people a taste of the app itself that would want to drive them to purchase the whole game.

Overall, I think it is a great game for 99¢. Great job!

Good review. I have never played a game like this, but decided to buy it after watching the video. I think I got the hang of it, but if I have one complaint it needs instructions for us who aren't used to games like this. Great game though and well worth the dollar I spent. Keep up the good work.

Wow, puzzle games like these I get off on. Great game.

My only gripe is that it has crashed 3 times since buying it. Maybe I gotta reset my iPhone?

YEah, I did it and no problems.

EDIT
Does this game remind anyone else of Metroid?

Just downloaded and tried the Lite version, and I absolutely love it. I've always liked untangling knotted strings, and the beautiful graphics of this game make the excersie a delight. I'll most certainly be buying the full version. Thanks and congrats for a lovely game.

I tried the free version and it's great! Just purchased the full version. I didn't quite understand the concept at first (never played a game like this before) but figuring it out was part of the fun of the game. ;)

I'll be buying this, but as was said in the quote above, offer a lite version with a just a level or two. Generally I do not buy games w/o a lite version demo. Same goes for PC/Console games.

*Edit*
I see you have a lite version now, good job.
I'll still buy it, looks fun!
