The headline pretty much says it all – does anyone know whether there will be third party Magsafe 3 cables and if there will, when? I like Magsafe a lot but the premium Apple puts on its cable is really painful. I wouldn't even need fast charging, which would probably allow for using a cheaper cable if there will be one.

There are actually some third party cables for MagSafe 2. No idea whether they are approved by Apple though, probably not.
They might be able to. We already have a type c to MagSafe 2 cables . I'm using one right now.
To get 140w tho they might need a more expensive PD chip since it's a new standard.

Yeah, the price they charge for this is up there with the premium for the Mac Pro Wheels. Is it braided with unicorn blood or something?
