The Remove-From-Dock Smoke shows up everytime I open Chrome (with video)

That puff of smoke that you get whenever you remove something from the dock, shows up everytime I open up Chrome. Watch the video, and focus on the bookmarks bar, where it says Youtube, and you will see the smoke icon appear. Anyone know what is causing this?

I had it also. Seems like a bug in the build. I updated to Chrome Beta and it's fixed.

That's a pretty odd bug! At least you get a nifty little animation with it

Have you tried clearing out Chrome's preferences?

• Navigate to the preference folder in your user library in Finder by pressing "command + shift + G" to open a "Go to Folder" window and entering "~/Library/Preferences"
• Find the Google Chrome preference, probably named com.google.plist or com.google.chrome.plist, and move it to your desktop, this will force Chrome to recreate it once you relaunch Chrome.
• Relaunch Chrome and see if the issue persists

The bug came back after I imported bookmarks from Safari, even on the Beta channel.

To fix it, delete the Bookmarks file located in:

/~yourusername/Library/Application Support/Google/Chrome/Default/

Chrome automatically creates a backup copy named Bookmarks.bak

Once you delete the Bookmarks file, next time you open Chrome, it will load your bookmarks from the backup copy and there will be no more "poof" animation on startup.

Sorry to resurrect this, but I am having the exact same issue. I tried the fix below but there isn't any Chrome folder in Library/ApplicationSupport/Google

Instead I have two things in the Google folder: Google Talk plugin and Google Voice Uninstaller

I've tried searching for "Chrome" and "Google" to see if I could find the bookmark file to delete it, but didn't have any luck. Any other thoughts?
