?? The screen made a sound, now I cant close it (picture inside)

I have a 1gen Air. It has worked flawless until now, when it made a strange sound. I just had it on my lap, but something happened to the mechanics between the computer and the screen. And now I cant even close the screen

Does anyone know what to do?

Ive tried to gently apply pressure but it didnt make any difference

The hinge has failed. It's a known design flaw, and if you take it in to an apple store they'll repair it for free....

Ok must be the hinge, I googled for "macbook air hinge" and found similar pictures.
Also found http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2948 Nice that they fix it even it is out of warranty
