The Sims 3 Characters won't show up properly

I've just installed The Sims 3 but my sims 3 characters won't show up properly. I'm using a Macbook pro.
I tried looking into websites but I can't find any solution and I'm very new to Sims & Mac. Hope you guys could help? Thanks!

Sorry. This is a common problem for those with the Intel 3000 HD graphics chip since the Pets patch. There is no solution at the moment but EA have indicated that they are working on a patch.
