I've been trying to play The Sims 3 on my iMac but the performance of the game is significantly less when compared to how the game ran on Leopard. This is the first time I've tried playing the game after upgrading, and the load times of the game are slow and the video is very choppy, why the sudden change after upgrading to a supposed "leaner" version of OS X? Has anyone else had the same problem?

My specs:

2.16GHz Core 2 Duo processor, 500GB HDD (with 250GB free), 2GB RAM, 256MB ATI Radeon X1600

Have you tried reinstalling the game ? Or maybe the OS ?

There is a chance that if you did an 'upgrade' from Leopard, the drivers may have had a case of dementia

Try turning down the resolution in addition to turning down the detail settings. Is your Mac running too hot ? You can download smcFanControl ( http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/23049/smcfancontrol ) to increase fan speed.

Hope this helps.

Yes same here it's because it's a Cider port, not natively ran on Mac osx.
