The Sims (The First One) - Playing without CD?

Has anyone at anytime successfully made a copy of the The Sims disc using Toast or Disk Utility. I usually make copies of all my game CDs so I don't have to insert them into the CD drive every time I want to play them.

Toast - Ripping the CD fails at 83% competition

Disc Utility - CD does not show up in CD Drive Sidebar
