I just don't get why they've got this irritating Metro-desktop mix going on.
Okay, for Windows 8 I get it, it's needed to run legacy apps the way they were intended, but Windows RT? It has no backwards compatibility, and is intended for touch devices only, so why can't Microsoft just put their foot down and say Metro only for RT?
Even worse that the new Office they ship with RT is not Metro. I was so very close to waiting and trying a Samsung Ativ Tab, but I had one play around with the Asus Vivo and having to interact with a desktop interface on a tablet really pissed me off.
Sure, you could argue that maybe they'll enforce it more in future iterations, but they've made it a lot harder for themselves by not starting with that philosophy immediately.
(Disclaimer: Yes, I know it's not called Metro anymore, but "Windows 8 UI" or "New Windows UI" or whatever it is just isn't very catchy or clear.)
