A geographical oddity
I haven't seen one, so I thought it might be nice to start a thread where you could share service outages. If you have an outage, or it looks like you do, share it. It may take going through a page or two, but it should make it easier to find outage information that is current.

As of yesterday evening, there seems to be a 3G outage in Frederick, MD. Edge was full bars and as soon as my shuttle was in range of another tower, I popped up to full bars on 3G.
 
Are outages, that frequent that a thread is needed?
I've never seen an outage in my area (Boston Mass) either ATT or verizon, so perhaps I'm lulled into a false sense of security.

I've seen two in three months. This one seems to be just one tower, the other was the regional outage in July.

Not a lot, but enough that I think it could be useful (Google has a fair number of hits, even though they rend to be clustered)

This is so strange, I was just looking to see if this happened to anyone else. I have an outage in Exton, PA right now. Very Strange!:mad:
 
Just be happy none of us have Sidekicks! Those poor saps have been without data services since early Friday morning. And seeing as how all your contacts, SMS/MMS, pictures, and downloaded media is stored on Danger/M$'s servers that is a super epic FAIL.
 
Data outage in southern NJ

Starting at about 8:20 this morning, I have no data connection on my iPhone. Southern New Jersey, 856 area code.

I normally have full signal 3G at this location, but for the past 40 minutes or so it's been full signal but no data. Tried restarting the phone.

You need to upgrade to Spork 3.1 - all your problems will be solved.

We have water here. Maybe if I bring you some water - you can bring me some cereal. We also have spoons in case you hacked your fork and don't want to risk bricking it
 
AT&T Rep says

On the phone with customer service now. The rep says there is a data outage for southern New Jersey.

She offered to trouble shoot my phone.

Had me dial *#06# to get a number, gave to her.

Asked me to dial out. Success.

She placed test call to me. Success.

She asked if I've changed devices or anything like that. No.

She asked if there was anything else she could do for me. Well, what's the issue? when is data going to come back? She doesn't know, she doesn't know.

"Would you say I've resolved your issue?" Um, no, not really...

Yes, but now that I've upgraded the point parts of the spork poke my tongue when I eat mah Cocoa Puffs. Unacceptable.

Ah. I don't have that problem. The prongs on my spork are perfect as per manufacturer's specifications. They are smooth with no rough edges on the bevel. Sorry to hear you're one of the unlucky ones. By any chance does your spork have a slightly yellow tint too?

Per the tech rep I just spoke to 3G will not be fixed until 2:30

Also, the spacing between the prongs is a little off. The yellow tint doesnt bother me, but the the hairline cracks are starting to bother me. I tried taking it back to the Spork™ store, but they said it was out of warranty because my stupid friend spilled beef fat all over it. :mad:

You've been hanging out with that Boyardee fellow again. I told you he'd wind up voiding your warranty!

Southeastern PA outage

There appears to be a continuing 3g only outage in southeastern PA. Just spoke with AT & T again, and they now seem to be aware of this (2 hrs later)!
