Well after much watching from afar and reading you guys offering great advice i made a mad on the spot decision and went for it, I Ordered the Mac Pro 2.66ghz quad, 4gb RAM, 7300gt card (can upgrade in future if i need to) 250gb HD, Bluetooth + EDR module & Wireless Keyboard & Mouse.
I will be Getting Adobe Design Suite Premium CS3 in a swap for my old AMD Pc from a friend who has lost the will to be a photographer anymore, so i'm very happy.
Now i do have 1 question, 'Hard Drives' ive been looking at some seagate barrcuda's i want 1x320gb & 2x500gb, but i know i want S-ATA II's but ive seen 7200.9 & 7200.10 advertised, what is the difference to me as the end user, will they both fit/work ok?
the one place ive been looking at is Ebuyer, any other recommendations?

I feel a whole lot better for making the decision to get rid of windows once and for all, and i have to offer my thanks to you guys for the great advice ive read here lately, making me realise i am doing the right thing.

7200.9s are fine as far as I know, but there was a firmware problem with some 7200.10s that only allowed the drive to run at half speed. Link

Congrats on your purchase! You will love it, i'm sure.

The 7200.10's should be faster (higher areal density?), but it may not make much of a difference, especially if you will use the 2 500's in a raid0. I remember hearing about the compatibility issues being solved by a firmware update of some kind...

Keep checking this link. You can find it for $120 sometimes. I got two for this price and they were both 7200.10's. You might get the 7200.9's since it doesn't specify which.

I'd check newegg (link to seagate drive section). I just bought a 400 GB 7200.9 seagate for $89 shipped with no tax. Great drive.
