A Fun Wait

3 hours on iDay, then a little longer as the 1st group went in. I was in the 2nd group.

Honestly, it was a beautiful day and I enjoyed the experience. It was fun watching people stare at us, and there was a cute little dog in line with us that got a lot of attention. I wouldn't trade the wait.

yeah i was a little bummed because i took that friday off because it was my b-day and i did not want to wait all day but it turns out that i did not have to. it was an amazing day for apple fans!

2 hours, 37 min.

Got in line at 4 pm, doors opened at 6, I was out the door at 6:37.

A cousin of mine camped out - spent 18.5 hours there at the no. 2 spot in line. He was out the door by 6:20.

5 minutes.

My sister's boyfriend works at the Apple Store, and I had him email me when things died down if they had any left. He emailed me around 7:30, and I went in about 45 minutes after that, and there was a girl at the front ready to help someone. The place was packed, but most people were just looking. Since she had one of the PDA things for scanning my credit card, I was in and out of there in no time.

Zero Minutes!

Went to a Tigers game and then stopped by the Apple Store afterwards.
Walked in around 11pm and was in my car with my iPod by 11:05

Got there at 330 waited till 6 got out around 7! it was soo fun everyone was clapping and video cameras outside ppl watching us.. Pretty fun Experinced. i'd never think i'd wait in line but i did!! it was COOL! :p oh yea this was on iDay!

3 hours on Friday at an at&t and then by the time I got to the front they had about 7 4gb and no 8gb. Went to the apple store first thing the next morning and got an 8gb with no problems.

I arrived at the AT&T Store at 5:50 on Launch Day to scout it out and saw a longish, but manageable line. After all, not everyone in line was going to buy one, they might be with someone else. I was given #35 to prove I was legit and had a good time chatting with the other enthusiasts.

By 6:20 I was in the store, back out the door and meeting up with some friends for dinner. The waitress at the restaurant was impressed with my manliness (as were my friends, but she was cuter) and helped me find a plug to charge the phone with. It became much more fun once I got home and activated it though, haha.

I bought mine a week after iDay. There were about 20 people in line, I was the second to last. I got there at about 8:50 am. At 8:55 they opened the doors and we all got iPhones. After I was paying for a case, one of the guys was telling someone else that they only had one phone left, this was at 9:07.

Four hours at an AT&T store. But I had a great time. Came up about 5 people short of getting an 8gb (Sold the 4gb to my dad, who is a tech nut like me, but just not quite not as much of one). I got an 8gb later.

The "local" Apple Stores are local only on the scale of "local" in Southern California.

1 week 4 days and still waiting. I ordered mine online and it hasn't even gotten into "prepared for shipping" status yet. I'm thinking about ebaying it.

Check this out,

I went THE DAY AFTER they went on sale and late around 3p.m. The store had at least 30 just sitting there. 4 and 8gb.

Apple never said there was a shortage. I don't get the people that camped out for this. Must be nice to have that kind of free time. I'm envious of that.

Well over 18 hours! Perfect way to spend my days off too!
What a blast in line it was! Best group ever around me to chat with! Plus the guy in the front of our line got arrested for being drunk!
