Maybe it's not a big problem, but it's been bothering me for quite a while. I don't remember when my wallpaper could no longer be replaced. I'm not sure when it happened, or if it happened when I switched to Open Core boot, or if I did something I shouldn't have done.
At some point, I wanted to replace the wallpaper, and then sometime later, after rebooting, I found that the old wallpaper was still there. What's interesting is that when I logged in to the system, I could still see the new wallpaper that was assigned before I "entered the desktop", but after I officially entered the desktop, it became the old one again.
I have tried to find a solution to this problem, and there are some methods that require changing some files in the repository, or dropping some files, etc. I have tried all of them, but they do not work.
It's really no big deal, but ..... Anyone else have a similar situation? Since I updated my system to Monterey today, I found that it still exists.

The computer in question is a 2010 Mac Pro 5,1, using Open Core boot (0.7.8). The system has now been upgraded to Monterey, and after the upgrade, everything is being sent in from Catalina using the transfer of information, so I guess that's probably why it's still there? Thanks for any help.

That was a lot of words. You set your desktop background in System Preferences and it didn’t stick?

Well, I just did a few experiments again.
The first time, directly in the system preferences specified the wallpaper (apple built-in wallpaper), after rebooting, can work.
The second time, again directly in System Preferences specify the wallpaper, but I specify the resources in the User Account -> Pictures folder, can work.
The third time, I right-clicked directly on the desktop to change the wallpaper, and I specified the pictures in the iCloud folder, and after restarting the computer, it worked.
Suddenly, it worked again. Well, I'm sorry for opening this discussion, but I assure you it didn't work for a long time, even an hour ago, and it was not working.
That's weird.....

That’s good. I wasn’t sure if you were using System Preferences or actually trying to modify files in the system volume.

Yes, it's true that at some point, maybe a few months ago, I tried to fix this and used the option of modifying some files in the system directory, but it didn't work, since it was no big deal, so I just let it go.

Until this afternoon I upgraded to Monterey and found that the problem still exists .... but now everything is back to normal, and thank you for your interest, cheers.
